What is the best insole for your shoes when you have plantar fascitis?

The question you should be asking is what shoe is necessary to fit orthoses (if other treatments have been done)?

If you have tried calf stretches, Ice Rx, NSAIDs, Rest, Ultrasound treatment, avoided barefooted walking, and religiously worn a shoe with a good heel height from morn til night, and have been diagnosed with pathological mechanical foot dysfunction, then you should try orthoses BUT......the shoes have to have a stiff heel counter, stiff midsole and a good midfoot fastening, otherwise your orthoses will be a pure waste of money!

The best insoles to get is to actually go and get fitted for a pair of orthotics.

Because they actually take your feet and make the orthotics for it, they will be the best thing for your condition. Any store bought ones won't give you the support you're going to need.

Unfortunatly they are pricey.... but they last for a long time and you can move them between most or all of your shoes.

I'm not sure where you are from so I can't tell you where to go. Talk to your Dr. he may be able to refer you to a good place to get them made.

Around here we have a company called BioPed which is amazing.

Good Luck!!
Reply:ask your doctor to refer you to a podiadrist, who will give you the correct insoles, and some exercises to do.

If those things don't help, ask your doctor about cortisone injections (They worked for me)
Reply:you can buy heel supports from the chemist, they are foam and washable, I know how you feel, had it for 5 months
Reply:After two years I am going to collect my insoles on Friday and I cannot wait. I had the cast taken last Wednesday of my feet, so having worn temporary insoles this is the real deal. I went to a Physiotherapist as I could not get to see a Podiatrist, but the PT referred me to the technical orthopedic rehab unit and Friday is good feet day. I have tried all the insoles available over the counter, they did zero. The temporary insoles, well I wore out the first ones, so had a second pair made and now I get the real deal. Two years and yes at times I was wondering if I would always be left wearing temporary insoles, was worth the wait, because my feet were too bad for the OTC ones that I purchased. Best of Luck
