How to properly use heel liners in running shoes/sneakers?

Ok I know this is a rather dumb question, but I can't find a place in the heel where it feels right. Do you put them up at the top of the heel or at the bottom so it touches the insole, or somewhere in between? I have Dr. Scholl's heel liners, but is there some better brand, or another way to make shoes fit better that slip in the heels? (i don't want heel cups or insoles)

You should take the insoles that came with the shoe out and use it as a template to cut the new insoles. If you go to a real running shoe store they will usually know which insoles you need and do this all for you.
Reply:Your best bet if you don't like insoles is to get shoes that fit. Go to a real runners shoe store and get fitted for shoes that fit your feet and match your style.
