Does anyone have recommendations for insole inserts for Plantar fasciitis?

I walk 5 miles a day and am having hell pain. I also would like to get recommendations for good walking shoes.

Does anyone have recommendations for insole inserts for Plantar fasciitis?
First, going to the podiatist is the BEST idea. Those insoles (even the ones from the podiatrist) don't usually work. But there are other treatments...and the exercises are good. The BEST shoes are Cherokee Rockers...wore them for years...and I am a nurse and on my feet 12 hrs a day straight. Just do a Yahoo Search and enter, "Cherokee rockers". There are several sites to buy them...or you could call local stores to see if they carry them. Good Luck
Reply:Go to a "Good Feet" store.
Reply:The only thing I've heard of is tapeing. I guy uses Duct tape down the side of his foot %26amp; then strips at 90deg. accorss his insole. Another one wrapes white medical tape around his insole and up his anckle like a sprain.
Reply:When the pain is present, you may want to actually go to the store and ask for a heel cup, which helped me more than insole inserts. Once the inflammation/pain goes away, the insole inserts help keep it from coming back.

Ask the pharmacist, or do a websearch for orthotics and look around in your area.
Reply:there are a great set of exercises available from your local Podiatrist that really help stretch the muscles in the back of your legs that cause this condition
