What are good insoles who got Plantar Fasciitis.?

I had this about 4 years ago. It huirts like stink especially when you walk. I tried everything. I even went to a orthopedic doctor. He put me in a moon boot to wear at night, gave me antiinflammatory drugs, %26amp; a shot of cortisone (Hurts!!!!!). I only got temporary relief.

What got rid of it for me was when my wife got some generic shoe inserts. These things had a plastic arch support that was covered with foam. Within a week of wearing these things, the pain was gone after having been miserable for many months.

What are good insoles who got Plantar Fasciitis.?
The best insole would be one that has been custom made for your feet, but they are much too costly. The best solution is too do stretching exercises for the tendons. This is done by dorsal flexing of the foot (extending the foot) and holding it for 5 seconds and then plantar flexing the foot (pointing the foot) toward the floor for 5 seconds. This should be done for a couple of minutes a few times a day. Another great exercise is standing on the edge of a stair and letting your heels drop down and holding that for a few seconds and then coming back up on your tip toes for a few seconds. This exercise should be done a few times daily. Soaking in some warm water will also speed up the circulation after you have done these exercises. The best remedy for plantar fascitis is of course these mild exercises. Good luck.
Reply:Ask a doctor%26#039;s advice first, then get a pair of New Balance athletic shoes. I spoke with my doctor about severe pain in the foot, I mean P A I N!!! He sent me for x-rays and then suggested these shoes. Wow, my feet felt so good. They may feel strange at first. They are a different kind of shoe and well worth the price. The New Balance shoes are not expensive. I was having terrible trouble with my feet UNTIL these shoes came along via my doctor%26#039;s advice. Remember this, What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? - Romans 8:31. The Lord daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. - Psalm 68:19. Peace and God Bless.
Reply:A good %26quot;brand%26quot; is Spenco. You can find them by the bright green packaging. Insoles that are helpful provide arch support. Fasciitis, or any word that ends in -itis means inflammation (arthritis, tendinitis, synovitis). By supporting the arch, you remove stress on the fascia. To treat the condition try freezing a plastic water bottle that is mostly full of water. When frozen put it on the floor and roll it back and forth with the affected from the ball of the foot to the heel. This technique massages the fascia while icing (for inflammation) the tissue. Good luck!!
Reply:I have them too..and I have to wear shoes from .Mason Shoe Company or buy Dr. Shoals shoes from Wal-mart..

History of Orthotic insoles?

Hey guys, I can%26#039;t seem to find any information on who invented orthotics. Does anyone know how it all started or any website that will explain it to me?

I have to do a research on this.

Son put boot insoles in dryer and drum is discoloured how do we clean and get white colour back?

You could try using one of those Magic Erasers, the white sponge thing that seems clean everything, including scuff marks on the floor. It is worth a shot.

Son put boot insoles in dryer and drum is discoloured how do we clean and get white colour back?
I%26#039;ve found that fingernail polish remover (with acetone) works great at removing stains like this. One time a pen exploded in my dryer and hardened all over the inside of the drum. I tried scrubbing with all kinds of soaps and detergents and then I tried the fingernail polish remover. It worked instantly and the dryer looked brand new.

Be careful to let the dryer air out completely before using it again since the polish remover is flammable.
Reply:Since it is probably a dye, try a soapy cloth first. If that doesn%26#039;t work, try the cloth with something like nail polish remover. Keep the area well vented, especially if it is a gas dryer with a pilot light. If that doesn%26#039;t work, ask someone at a dry cleaner--they are wizards are getting stains out and might know of a better product for you.
Reply:the colour wont come out my dryer is dark blue with jeans been in there.

it is the heat that causes the colour to rub into the drum and keep it that colour.

upside: u can enjoy a newly coloured drum

Do springbak insoles really work!!?

I%26#039;m on my second pair. Now, I%26#039;m not sure if these are worth the hype, but an old roommate told me about these a while back. I got them, but I%26#039;m not sure if I see any big results as far as running faster or jumping higher. Anyway, what I like about them is that they%26#039;re very thin, comfortable, and extremely durable. I play a lot of basketball and volleyball, so I appreciate the extra support on my feet. Most other insoles I%26#039;ve bought tear apart after a month of playing ball. But these definitely last.

Check out this video:

If these insoles can help prevent knee injury from harsh landings, I think the price is worth it. Also worth testing them out for yourself. Let me know how they work for you.

Ugg boot insoles?
I%26#039;m not too sure what you mean by %26quot;half size%26quot;, but if you mean would it make them smaller, no.

Insoles are purely for more comfort on the bottom of your feet, the insoles of the shoe usually erode, so you buy insoles.

Are gel-insoles good for running shoes?because i need added cushioning?

try any nike trainer, specifically the nike air zoom vomero 1 or 2 you literally sink in to the full length air sole (it feels awesome)

Are gel-insoles good for running shoes?because i need added cushioning?
Not really.

Gel is actually best for vibration dampening or side to side force reduction. However, when running or walking most of the force is vertical (up or down). Down from gravity or up from the hard surface of the ground. Therefore, you are better off with an insole made out more maximum shock absorbing cushioning materials. One of the best on the market today is the dual layered memory foam PAM insole from MEGAComfort http://www.megacomfort.com . If you still want the gel, their new MEGASole combines the dual layered memory foam with just a little gel under the heel and arch. For more information on insoles visit my blog at http://theinsoledoctor.blogspot.com/
Reply:yes, gel insoles would be good for your feet and your performance. just be sure to take the original sole out of your shoe and replace it with your new insert. if you need even more cushioning, simply invest in shoes that offer a lot of cushioning to begin with. may i suggest the Asics Gel Platinum or the Nike Air Pegasus-both offer tons of cushioning and support for your needs.
Reply:Yes, it is good for the heels and will lessen the chance of you having a sprain in your ankle.
Reply:yes they work great.. i use them all the time and my heels feel way better.

Shock absorbing insoles for shin splints?

I tried Superfeet sold at Sportchek but they add about 1.5 inches to the heal of my foot and make my shoes super tight. Can anybody reccommend some that really work and are a comftorable addition to your shoe?

(by the way I run)

Shock absorbing insoles for shin splints?
i tried dr. scholl%26#039;s insoles, they worked pretty well but mostly for my knees. they%26#039;re not too tight, a very nice jelly fit =]

i dont remember if they%26#039;re a special kind but they%26#039;re like a clearish blue

if you already have shin splints, you might want to heal them first by icing them (30 min. ice, 10 min no ice, 30 min ice...) and eating bananas!
Reply:Shinsplints suck, i had them last year and tried a new pair of shoes, then insoles, and i didn%26#039;t like either of them.

i just took some advil, then iced them.

they still hurt for awhile after, ask your coach/trainer for stretches to help them heal.

good luck.
Reply:I suffered from shin splints for a long time...Did some research and found out I overpronate when I run, which is common in people w/ flat or even just slightly flat feet. I ordered these inserts for my shoes which are suppose to give you better motion control. By the way, you are only suppose to ad inserts to your shoes if the existing inserts can come out...which most do. With these ones you have to take out your old insoles and place them on top of the new insoles and trace around the top and cut them to fit. Mine turned out perfect for my shoes and are actually more comfortable than the insoles that came w/ my shoes. I wear Nike shox....anyway, they have worked wonders for me and I haven%26#039;t had shin splints since.

I like mine -- depends on the person I guess -- you%26#039;re the best judge for you
Reply:yeah they helped me they made my calfs feel better!! but i got the t-macs and i didnt think they would hurt b/c they were new shoes and they i used the gel and it helped!! lol but idk its different for different ppl b/c one of my friends on the team also got them and she didnt like them that much!! so idk its up to you but i like them
Reply:When i got mine i did feel a big difference in my feet after a basketball game and they also put half an inch on my height. But my friend got some and didnt like them. You%26#039;ll have to try and see if you like them yourself.
Reply:I used them in soccer for my heels...if you do the whole foot it doesn%26#039;t make that much of a difference you won%26#039;t notice but it can save some pounding on your heels I would recomend it if you are a serious athlete

Do gel insoles help when your running?
Insoles may help your feet and legs when training or doing distance work, but they will not improve your time, they may prevent injuries.
Reply:Yes. Gel inserts are soooo comfortable and make all the difference in the world. now listen...if you are more comfortable doesn%26#039;t it just make sense that you%26#039;re performance will be inhanced? Don%26#039;t listen to anyone who says otherwise. The only complaint I have about gel inserts is that they tend to lift you high in the shoe so just go with the heel inserts. Trust me you will feel much better and run better.
Reply:Insoles usually end up sucking and the gel slows me down. The soles the shoes come with are the only insoles that really are made for that shoe. The only reason why you have to get insoles is if you are having pain. Gels are not going to help speed at all. You need to train harder.
Reply:They dont improve performance but do help prevent injuries. You only suck at runnig because you arent in shape... to be good, you have to train consistently. No secret shortcuts

Will new insoles/footbeds rejuvenate my 1.5 yr old running shoes???

I alternate between two pairs of running shoes, I bought them around the same time and just replaced my New Balance pair with the new 790s which are nice so far. I would like to keep My INOV8 Terroc330s though they have been great. Will a GOOD footbed save my shoes from the thrift shop?

Will new insoles/footbeds rejuvenate my 1.5 yr old running shoes???
I used to do the same thing (buy insoles to extend shoe life)...and after some joint pain and other aches, I noticed that it%26#039;s far better to just replace the shoes. A good pair of insoles can cost 20-25% as much as a new pair of shoes. I%26#039;d get the shoes. Happy running!

- Mike
Reply:Try some Nike Frees.
Reply:Shoes should be replaced between 300-500 miles. the cushioning in the shoe breaks down in the actual structure of the shoe not the inserts you can replace and you could be risking injury by jarring the joints to much.try finding and buying a new pair of your favorites.
Reply:It really depends on how much running you do.

If you only do a couple miles a week, I%26#039;d say go ahead and get the insoles.

If you are training for a marathon, get new shoes.
Reply:Only for the cushion but you will lose the support.

It%26#039;s hard when you have to find new running shoes due to your faves being discontinued.

Shock absorbent insoles?

Does anyone know whether they are effective in decreasing impact when running and where i can get them?

Shock absorbent insoles?
Cushioning comes from the shoe%26#039;s sole not the insole. The only reason for a different insole is to change the shoe%26#039;s arch. If you want more cushioning, buy a different shoe.
Reply:The brand of shoe also makes a difference. The best shoes for running are Asics. If you splash out on a decent pair, you%26#039;ll get the best support and cushioning possible.

Also, if you really want inner soles. Sorbothane is a massively shock absorbant substance. You can get them in sports stores.

But I think you should start off with a good pair of shoes.
Reply:I find shock-absorbing insoles to be more comfortable, but, if they don%26#039;t fit the foot or shoe, perfectly, they tend to move around inside the shoe, thus making me feel as if I%26#039;m about to slide off the street! Seriously! The old-style cloth ones are better, in that regard, but they tend to distintegrate quickly, due to the pounding punishment of the pavement!

You can get them at any department store; the dollar stores have them, too.

P.S. If you have special needs, especially if you intend on doing this professionally, you may need to see an orthopedist or podiatrist.

I really don%26#039;t know to be honest. I would just buy new shoes that help with over pronation, such as asics gel kayanos.
Reply:Best person to answer this would be a podiatrist or a sports medicine phyiotherapist. If you are looking for orthotics to run in you are going to want ao cushioned neutral shoe because the orthotics are going to do the work to correct your foot strke.

If you are looking to not wear orthotics then you will likly want a good supporting stablity shoe. Find a Running store and ask the shoe guy to evaluate your gaite and foot strike and reocmmend some shoes.

I get numb feet when i am cycling, what kind of insoles should i buy for my cycling shoes?
I take it nothing has changed on the rest of your bike set-up/components and that you are used to riding off-road?

Insoles could make it worse as the fit might be tighter. Immediately after the next ride; check you don%26#039;t have any red chafing marks on you feet. It sounds like your shoes are too tight somewhere, rubbing or squeezing your toes/a nerve.

Don%26#039;t just buy insoles, try a few more rides, you may just need to get used to the shoes and bed them in a little to the shape of your feet. Ask more experienced riders/friends if they can spot the problem. If it doesn%26#039;t get better visit a podiatrist to see if the cause can be isolated.
Reply:Great!, glad to hear it helped.

Play around till you get a good tightness and if it is not too hot where you live, try thicker socks, this will fill out your shoes and give a better fit. you may not even need heel pads.

Good riding! Report It

Reply:I don%26#039;t know anything about insoles.

However, it could be you are cinching the shoes up too tightly. Or your feet are swelling after a short while. I have to be careful not to cinch my shoes to tightly at the beginnings of rides. Try leaving the straps a bit looser and see if it helps.

Also, be sure the insole of the shoes are nice and smooth. If the screws that hold the cleat in place, for example, are above the level of the insole they may be putting pressure on the nerves in your foot and making them feel numb.

Hope this helps.
Reply:1. make sure you bike is set up properly or %26quot;get fitted%26quot; at your local bike shop

2. the saddle can cause pinching and can lead to numbness in your feet

Reply:Hush Puppies or Lullabye bedroom slippers. Both available at Walmart, K-mart, Walgreen%26#039;s or other discount retailers. I know this sounds dorky, but you may want to try othopedic shoes or z-coils. Nurses rely on them becasue they are made especially for the protection and comfort of your feet. They may look a little unusual or different to you, but it%26#039;s important to protect your feet now, if you dont it can result in severe back and feet problems later on in life. So best to take care of it now!

I would never order something like that from online or an info-mercial. If you have problems like that with your feet, you need to see a podiatrist. They will expertly measure your feet and recommend orthotics that will help you immensely. And your insurance will cover part of it. You have no idea what you will get from anyplace else. Just not worth losing the $70 (plus shipping).

She ultimately got surgery to correct her foot problems, the worst of which was a bunion. That helped quite a bit, but she was off her feet for six weeks afterward.

One pair of custom orthotic shoe insoles cost as much as $450?????

Is it possible that only 1 pair of custom orthotic shoe insoles cost as much as $450 from an Ontario specialist. I think I%26#039;ve been ripped off. Before getting a prescription to get these, I had inquired to my co-workers. All of them told me that specialists will generally order you 2 pairs. 1 pair for workboots and 1 pair for casual wear. They all told me that the $450 that my insuarance covers pays for both pairs in a package. I went to see a doctor with the name of a specialist that my co-workers had recomended me to deal with. I did not see my regular family doctor for getting the prescription as there is a walk-in clinic I access here from time. In there, I mentioned the specialist someone had told me about but the doctor refused to refer me to anyone but the specialist that is in the same buildin as where both operate. He told me that I was to get two pairs as a prescription. Once upstairs, the specialist tells the same. 1 week later I get one pair. Everyone now denies it was for 2

One pair of custom orthotic shoe insoles cost as much as $450?????
I do not think that you can state the cost of one pair, as we are all different. Orthotic insoles are made for the individual, so depending on what problems were located, for example would a fallen arch be cheaper than say a inward roll of four degrees, both need orthotic insoles for problems but correcting the problem would in my opinion be more expensive for the four degree inward rolling of the feet, putting out ankle, knee, hip and spine alignment then fallen arches.

I'm looking for Custom Shoe Insoles or Custom Shoe Inserts?

I work at manufactured home plant and I am always on my feet but recently my arches have really been hurting. I%26#039;m looking for some good strong shoe inserts or insoles. Any personal recommendations?

I%26#039;m looking for Custom Shoe Insoles or Custom Shoe Inserts?
Yes, for custom inserts like orthotic inserts I would recommend a consultation with a Podiatrist (a doctor that diagnoses and treats diseases and disorders that relate to the foot and ankle) to see what they think could be causing your arches to hurt.

What is this stuff on my sneakers? (The insoles and on my bare feet) Wear the sockless for 4 years.?

I have these black Pumas that I never wear socks in (I hate wearing socks) and this past month or so (these are my Winter sneaks) as I take them off my feet I notice this black stuff sticking to my feet, and I peel them off my feet, and it also really makes my feet stink worse then before. I never had this problem before, and I would like to know what is this stuff that is inside my sneakers on the sides and the insoles, and it also sticks to my feet. What is this stuff? It don%26#039;t look bad, all I have to do is pick it off, but what is that. I been wearing sneakers without socks for 25 years now, and I never had a problem like this before. These sneaks are going on 5 years old and I love these sneaks and do not want to throw them out, becuase I love them so much. My Pumas are one of the most comfy sneakers I worn without socks with canvas insoles, but why is this stuff forming on my sneakers?

What is this stuff on my sneakers? (The insoles and on my bare feet) Wear the sockless for 4 years.?
I agree, you may want to stop wearing them.. I would like to have you send them to me to study. I would appreciate it and look foward to it. I wonder if it is just dirt that has formed to the insole, or some kind of fungus. Email me Pauly and I will gladly pay the shipping. I could send you a few extra dollars to secure a fresh pair to put on your bare soles. Thanks J.
Reply:doesn%26#039;t sound good! after five years of not wearing socks with these sneakers i would say you have some kind of fungus growing in them! throw em out! Don%26#039;t u think u have gotten your share out of them?

How do you remove the insoles of a shoe that is glued in?

Is it safe to just tear it out slowly? Will it damage my shoe? Well i%26#039;m trying to change the insoles of my Van%26#039;s shoes. How do I remove it?

some shoes aren%26#039;t glued. so i can just remove it. but these appear to be glued in, but at least it isn%26#039;t sowed in.

How do you remove the insoles of a shoe that is glued in?
If it seems like it is really in there, it is not just glued, it is tacked in. You will rip up the whole shoe trying to get that out. If the insole can come out without tearing, it will come out with little effort. Vans are just not going to work for your special insole.
Reply:if you wear the shoes the glue will get warm and it will be easier to not only pull out the old insoles, but it will help the new ones to stick to the soft glue.
Reply:AS YOU KEEP WEARING THEM THEY MIGHT LIKE LOOSEN UP AS YOU WEAR THEM TRY NOT TO PULL THEM OT IT COULD RUIN THE INSOLES OF THE SNEAKER
Reply:Just pull it out, the glue isn%26#039;t very strong. Won%26#039;t damage your shoes.
Reply:I wouldn%26#039;t remove it, if I were you. I%26#039;d just put the new insole over the current one.

I need a answer about Dr. Scholl's Insoles for Work Boots?

I want to know if anyone has them or had them before. Doesnt really matter what kind, I Was going to get

%26quot;Dr. Scholl%26#039;s®Massaging Gel Insoles%26quot; for my Timberland Pro Steel toe work boots which i wear 40 hours a week. I Was wondering if they will fit nicely %26amp; not be messed up inside and not squshing my feet. Im a 10½M. The insoles says trim to fit but i just dont want to waste my money if they are not going to fit properly. I read that they can be thick %26amp; annoying %26amp; i didnt read anything that they will work for boots, Thats my main concern. Thank you in advance.

I need a answer about Dr. Scholl%26#039;s Insoles for Work Boots?
Dr Scholl%26#039;s insoles really do work. I am a server and stay on my feet for 70 hours in a week!! had to try them regaurdless of how much the cost. took a day to get use to the feel but the support and comfort were there. I noticed an improvement at the end of the nite when I took of my no skid steel toed shoes. sure hope that helps you decide.
Reply:If you have flat feet like mine, Dr. Scholls doesn%26#039;t really help anything. The gel insoles are lumpy and feel weird at first but you can get used to them. It just didn%26#039;t keep my feet from hurting though.

Ugg sizes might be different than Bearpaw sizes, so I wouldn%26#039;t recommend it. However, if they don%26#039;t make Bearpaw insoles, try the ugg insoles and you can see how they fit.

Will my Uggs stretch again with new insoles?

I went down a size and a half in Uggs because I am a .5 size and half a size down was too loose. After wearing down the nap I thought I%26#039;d put in some new Ugg insoles and now they feel waaaaaaay tight. Once the nap reflattens will they feel perfect again or do I maybe need to go for another type of insole? The Ugg ones are attached to thick and squishy foam with arch supports so I%26#039;m wondering if they%26#039;ll feel tight even after squishing down?

Will my Uggs stretch again with new insoles?
new shoes are always a bit tight - better that than too loose and your posture being affected by it...if you notice lots of people who%26#039;ve been wearing their uggs for a long time seem to have slipped around the edges of the bottom sole so their foot is scuffing on the sides...this is because the ugg design is very flexible and not that orthopaedic....they will definitely stretch again. try insoles that %26#039;stick%26#039; to your feet or have some sort of structure built into them because that way they will feel more comfortable. if all else fails, wear thick socks with them:)

What makes my insoles of my canvas sneakers turn yellow? (Wear them without socks)?

I have a few canvas sneakers that I always wear without socks, and the insoles of the sneakers turn yellow? (A yellow brown color) They used to be white. What causes the insoles to slowly change color is it by aging? I seen other canvas sneakers that are old, and the insoles are still white. So what causes the insoles to turn yellow?

What makes my insoles of my canvas sneakers turn yellow? (Wear them without socks)?
hummmm My best guess is that your feet sweat...the chemical changes the color and make your sneakers odiferous.
Reply:Perspiration. Wear Dr. Scholl%26#039;s odor eaters.
Reply:Your nasty *** bare feet probably turned them yellow.
Reply:the oils in your skin cause them to become yellow...you have the most sweat glands in your feet and I guess it builds up as time goes on in your sneakers.

I spray my sneakers with dr. scholl%26#039;s spray and it cuts down on the amount my feet sweat and I change my insoles from time to time.
Reply:ew! Why do you not wear socks? Your dirty feet and the sweat and smell will turn them colors! you need to start wearing socks! that is gross!
Reply:It%26#039;s caused by sweat, dirt, and foot fungus. Put some socks on, or at least use baking soda or Odor Eaters before you get athlete%26#039;s foot and never attract a woman again.
Reply:dirt and sweat, i would think, hon
Reply:Are you a smoker by any chance?

It could be nicotine.

Foot fungus caused by moister build up.

Make sure you air your soles out so they dry completely or simply change them if need be.
Reply:When you don%26#039;t wear socks, your dirty feet (and sweat) discolor the insoles. Want to solve that? Wear socks!
Reply:Either it%26#039;s because you%26#039;re feet isn%26#039;t clean enough or the sneaker is old try wearing them with sock or change the insole often.
Reply:sweat
Reply:The reason for that is usually dirt and sweat.I like it happens anyway if you do wear socks, cause all mine are like that too but with out the yellow color and I wear socks. Same thing happens if you wear a shirt and sweat really bad in it.The armpit part of the shirt turns yellowish orange. Hope I answered your question.
Reply:your feet are dirty. win u sweat the dirt releases with the sweat and tints the sneakers yellow. ew
Reply:your feet sweet and as we all know sweet is not clear like water......that is why your insoles are turning yellow. to solve this problem you can obviously wear socks. it is best to wear socks either way to keep from getting sore spots on your feet and to avoid nasty infections and also not to forget the odor!!
Reply:Bad foot hygiene.

No self respect.

What causes the sneaker insoles to stick to my bare feet?

When I wear my sneakers, I mostly wear them without socks, since I hate wearing socks, and when I do wear them the insoles stick to my feet, especially the cloth insoles. They really stick to my feet. When I wear my New Balance sneakers, and I take them off my feet the insoles really stick to my feet, and the insoles sometimes come out of the sneaker. What casues the insoles to stick to my feet. THis happens to all the footwear I wear including my sandals, and my deck shoes; therefore what causes the stickiness?

What causes the sneaker insoles to stick to my bare feet?
sweat from the encased foot
Reply:SWEAT THATS WHY YOU WEAR SOCKS
Reply:Perspiration and heat. It is the same thing that happens when you exercise strenuously or work in the yard and your shirt sticks to your back. That is also caused by heat and perspiration.
Reply:sweat.
Reply:Your natural sweat, helps to make the insole mold to your foot and therefore stick to the bottom of your feet. The insole also works to form itself to your foot and when you sweat and walk on your insole, it almost becomes part of the bottom of your foot, which sometimes comes out when you slip off your shoe. Sometimes they are fun to play with using your toes or bouncing the insole around with your foot while your are sliding it back into your shoe, for the next time you wear them.

Can running insoles harm you or only help you?

When I went to buy my insoles the store employee told me that I was an overpronator and that the insoles would help give me extra stability when I run. However, there are times when the insoles do not bother me and other times when I get sharp pain in my shins or arches. Is this because of the insoles or am I just hurt?

Which sneaker insoles feel best on your feet when you don't wear socks? (Silly question)?

Which insoles feel best on your feet when you wear them without socks? (Most comforrtable) If you have to wear your sneaks without socks for some Odd reason.

A) Canvas Insoles (Converse All STars)

B) Cloth INsoles (Most sneakers today)

C) Silk insoles (Very few sneakers)

D) None of the above

Which sneaker insoles feel best on your feet when you don%26#039;t wear socks? (Silly question)?
Cloth Insoles, because they feel nice and soft on the bottom of your feet and when your toes wiggle, they get up under your toes and stick to your feet, its fun to play with the insole with your toes. They also absorb all your sweat and feel good when you have them on your feet all day.

Miracle Insoles??

I saw a TV advert whilst on holiday in NYC for some amazing shoe insoles. I cannot remember the name and i would dearly like to purchase them. The man on the TV said they were inented by two doctors and placed the insoles on a brick and hit them with a hammer and the insoles cushioned the blows and the brick did%26#039;nt break. can someone tell me thename of thes miracle insoles?

Miracle Insoles??
The foot is a very personal thing. Anyone who tells you an insole, purchased strictly by your shoe size, will end foot pain and discomfort, is a liar. I know exactly what you%26#039;re talking about. Those blue and white insoles. I think they ran a steam roller over it too. Both hard as a rock, and flexible as a sheet of paper. Certainly sounds like comfort and support to me.

If you%26#039;re having trouble with your feet, especially if you%26#039;re having pain, make an appointment with your doctor. You should ask to be referred to a podiatrist. You should be %26#039;fitted%26#039; for insoles. They should not only fit your shoe. They should also fit your foot, and be designed to support the way you place your foot when you move. Those guys on TV can%26#039;t do that.

What those people on TV are doing is taking advantage of people who are in pain, and looking for their %26quot;miracle%26quot;. What they should be is ashamed of themselves. If you insist on pre-fab insoles, go down to Wal-Mart and get yourself some Dr. Scholl%26#039;s. They%26#039;re just as good support-wise, and better because they%26#039;re cheaper.
Reply:Have you considered seeing a podiatrist and having custom orthotic insoles made? It is well worth it. It saves your feet, knees, and back a lot of hassel. I don%26#039;t know about the TV ad, but they make a lot of claims on TV that have no medical basis. I would hate to see you waste your money. By the way, stores that sell nursing shoes, often have excellent inserts that you can%26#039;t buy other places. Quark brand shoes sells an insole that can%26#039;t be beat.

Clear insoles for high heels?

I recently bought a pair of open sided high heels off ebay that tie with a ribbon round the ankle.

They are a size 4, my feet are about 3-3.5 but because they are different lengths and widths size four is the most comfortable as long as they are with insoles to give me a bit of padding.

My question is - where can I buy clear or invisible insoles? All the gel ones I have seen are blue! Normal insoles are not suitable as they are really obvious from the side and buckle under the arch of my foot.

I found Scholl air-pillo half insoles but only for the ball of my foot. I also bought some heel pads that go on the back edge, but I really think I need something under my heel to give me a bit of a %26#039;lift%26#039; as my feet still feel loose in the shoes. All heel pads I%26#039;ve seen are very thick and specialist orthopaedic ones!

Thanks for any pointers!

Wearing Insoles?

Do you remove the insoles that come in shoes so you can wear the insoles the doctor wants you to wear? The reason i ask this is because some people that i know that wear the cheap store bought insoles do not remove the original insoles that come inside theirs shoes but my doctor told me to remove the original insoles that come in new shoes.

Wearing Insoles?
I was told by my doctor to remove the insoles that come with the shoes, put the purchased insoles in, and then put the shoe insoles on top.

I do wear an orthodic arch support but it%26#039;s not much different than the good ones (more expensive) ones you can buy in stores. I do the same no matter which I%26#039;m wearing.
Reply:I have Arthritis and insoles that were made for me, had to have my feet plastered. As for the shoes? Well originally I was using temporary insoles designed by a Physiotherapist, have two sets, while I waited to have the feet plastered. During that time I purchased another pair of trainers. However, people with Arthritis need to make sure the shoes are broad, especially in the toe cap area. The best time to buy shoes mid afternoon about 3pm as by then the feet are swollen, so you will have room to expand. Then when you see the Technician, they will take the shoe and put the custom insoles inside. Reason being the mold has to be cut to fit the shoe, making sure it is %26#039;flat%26#039; on the inside of the shoe. Now my molded insoles are only half length, so the toes are not resting on anything except the bottom of the unpadded shoe. Therefore I have to wear my half shoe insets with the insole supplied with the shoe. Therefore, if you buy shop insoles, you remove the insole that came with the shoe. If you see a Podiatrist, the technician who makes the mold, will inform you what to do, depending on if you need a full insole or half insole. Best of Luck
Reply:If you got custom insoles made for your shoes, you shoudl probably wear them and remove the ones that came with your shoes. This can be tricky as certain shoes don%26#039;t fit with custom orthotics. Most than anything, your comfort should dictate your choices. If your new insoles work on top of the ones in shoes and feel comfy, then do that.
